I think most of my work falls into two distinct categories. In one I tend to approach an image with a specific form in mind and everything becomes just a matter of manipulating the light and shadows to achieve the form. With these pieces I take my cues in ways that are very similar to that of a sculpture in that all I am trying to do is to remove the unwanted elements. In the other, I often will use tricks of technology to help me find the subject. A lot of these pieces are created my physically manipulating the camera in unusual ways resulting in often completely unexpected works.

I love the idea of working in a well thought out and methodical approach one day, and completely haphazardly the next. As a photographer I can take each day, or each moment, and tell a different story and emotion and rather than be concerned with a cohesive artistic vision, I prefer to allow the viewer to judge each work or small collection on its own merits.
